We are fearfully and wonderfully made…..
I have been reading up my module on Human Information Processing. As the name of the module suggests, it covers how human being processes information around them. The rods, cones, the ganglion cells in our eyes, our perceptions, our attention, the memory system in our brain….it is all just so amazing. How the stimuli enters into our visual and auditory senses; how all these stimuli are sent to our brain for processing or independently being processed at our respective senses….these knowledge is simply too wonderful and complex for me to comprehend!!
No wonder, there is a saying that says “It takes more faith to be an atheist than to believe in God”. As I embarked on my journey in studying Psychology, I have never failed to be awed and amazed at how intricate and delicate each one of us are created and designed. Many study science to defute the existence of God or an intelligent being who created the universe, however, as I study into Psychology and a little bit of biology, I can’t accept the notion that I or all of us human being or living things exist by chance, by a random explosion in the universe. Instead, science proved the very existence of God, the Intelligent Being and Designer.
Thank you Lord, indeed I am fearfully and wonderfully made. No matter what the world may say, I know I am created for a purpose, a purpose that only with me can it be made perfect.
“For You have created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” Ps 139:13-14
“God has planned something better for us so that only together with us would they be made perfect.” Heb 11:40

Refreshed….but reflecting
Came back from the TCS leaders’ retreat, it was refreshing and rejuvenating. Not only was I rereshed in the Lord but also refreshed in the passion and freindship of my fellow colleagues in TCS. Of course, the moment I’m back, I jumped straight into my readings and assignments again :-p
As I was pondering on what to update in the blog, I was somehow led to read a devotion from Oswald Chamber in My Utmost to His Highest. This sentence caught my attention…”Do not rejoice in your successful service for Me, but rejoice because of your right relationship with Me.” I believed that it is no coincidence that Ps Rol also sent me an article from Buddy Owen which is entitled “How healthy is your vineyard?”. The article reminded that many at times, our religious activities overtook our spiritual intimacy with the Lord.
No wonder, Ps Rol is calling forth and asking BIG for a revival in our hearts, a revival in
the hunger for the Lord’s presence and His intimacy. For without this intimacy and this relationship with the Lord, we will once again be slaves and not truely enjoying the freedom and presence with our Lord. Let us once again, look into the condition of our hearts and ask the Lord to rekindle our love for Him.
I am thinking and I am reflecting….maybe you can ask yourself some of these questions too: When was the last time you talked to God, not because you needed something, but simply out of friendship? When was the last time you spent time in the Word, not for the sake of public ministry, but for the sake of personal renewal? What is your identity in Christ? Do you see yourself as a servant working for your master, or as a son working with your father?
